Juneteenth 2025

The City of Edinburg proudly invites the public to the 2025 Juneteenth Festival — a vibrant indoor celebration and commemorative ceremony honoring the historic end of slavery in the United States. This family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, June 21st, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM at the Edinburg ACE Center.

Join us this Saturday for a powerful and uplifting Juneteenth Festival at the ACE Center—an indoor celebration centered on healing, hope, and the enduring spirit of freedom.

This special event will complement other Juneteenth programs happening throughout the week by focusing on reflection, education, and joy. The day will include:

·        A welcome and short historical program

·        Educational booths and art activities for families

·        Dr. Francisco Guajardo (Museum of South Texas History) presenting on Black RGV History

·        A powerful guest speaker message by Corey Tabor, from Austin, Tx

·        Multiple dance performances and a soulful piano tribute honoring struggle and resistance

·        And finally, we’ll close the night with a high-energy Dance Party to celebrate freedom and community.

This free indoor event honors the spirit of Juneteenth through education, culture, and celebration. Guests can enjoy educational booths, interactive art activities, and powerful performances—including multiple dance performances, a soul piano tribute, and a presentation on Black RGV History by Dr. Francisco Guajardo of the Museum of South Texas History.

The evening will end on a joyful note with a festive dance party celebrating freedom, resilience, and community. This program complements other Juneteenth events happening throughout the week and focuses on healing, hope, and unity. We encourage everyone to attend—bring your families, celebrate together, and be part of this special moment in our city."
